Jill Cave as J Cave Creations

I thank my daughter for getting me back in front of my scroll saw after years of living on our sailboat.   I started making wooden puzzles.  Needing more of a challenge, I started  making three dimensional art. All of my pieces were small until the fateful day when I was asked to "make what we'd see out in the sea" and, of course, "make it 5 feet long".  As they say, the rest is history.

I work in Cypress. I love the grain lines displayed during the shaping process. The richness of the paint color is as important to me as the dimensions. Each design piece is individually cut, shaped, sanded, and painted before being assembled into the final design. From a distance, they look like a painting. Coming closer, you see the dimensions. Even closer and you notice tiny details.

I do work that inspires me; nothing is better than to work with someone else and turn their ideas into reality.  The smallest piece I have done is 6 inches.  The largest is over 7 feet.  I'd be honored to create one for you.
